3 Types Of Equipment Your New Bakery Should Have Before Opening Day

Opening a bakery offers an excellent opportunity to provide a valuable service to your community while making a living for your family. Here are a few types of equipment that your new bakery should have before your grand opening arrives.

Sheet Pan Racks

You will need to store all of the baked goods that you cook and cool throughout the day, and using your countertops will quickly make your kitchen cluttered. And with your countertops and shelves filled with baked goods that are in the production process or getting ready for sale, you'll find it hard to continue mixing ingredients and producing goods for your bakery throughout the day. So it's a good idea to line your kitchen walls with sheet pan racks.

You can dedicate each rack to a specific part of the production process. One rack can be used for cooling, while another is used for proofing. At the end of the day, you should find that your sheet pan racks help you stay organized and ensure that your baked goods stay safe and sanitary.

Dish Drying Racks

Even if you will be running a very small bakery, you'll appreciate having a few dish drying racks around. Between mixing bowls, spoons and spatulas, and display dishes, you will probably end up with more dishes to process than you realize.

And if your kitchen isn't set up to handle drying several loads of dishes at a time, you and your team may find it tough to keep up and fall behind on baking due to the need for manual dish drying. Being able to put your newly washed dishes directly on a drying rack will eliminate the need for manual drying and help ensure that there is always a clean and dry bowl to use when it's time to make a new batch of bread or brownies.

Glass Display Counters

To really entice customers when they walk through your bakery door and to peak interest in passersby, it's a good idea to display some of your baked goods in glass display counters so they can be seen by everyone when deciding what they want to order. The visual display of your available baked goods will entice customers to purchase more than they came in to get, and encourage them to try something new every time they visit your bakery.

Choose glass display counters that feature tempered glass for added safety. Your display counters should also have temperature controlled interiors so you can store cookies, muffins, and other goods ready for sale without having to move them the counters and your fridge every day.
